Dr. (hc) Saman Kapila Wijenayake (Saman K. Wijenayake) was born on February 27, 1977, in Hettipola City, Matale, Sri Lanka. He is the founder of the Seishin Karate School and Seishin Mixed Martial Arts Club UAE, as well as the visionary behind the CFC – Ceylon Fighting Club, which he founded in 2016. CFC is officially approved by an Olympic club, further affirming its credibility and commitment to international sports standards. The club also has an active presence in Milan, Italy. Saman K. Wijenayake began his martial arts journey in March 1988, starting with Kyokushin Karate. He deepened his skills through four years of rigorous training in Seishin Budo (NIKO) under Sensei D.C.M. Karunathilake from 1994 to 1998. In 1997, he was appointed as the Branch Chief of Nakayama Kaikan Karate in Sri Lanka, marking a major milestone in his career. In 1999, Saman achieved global recognition by setting a Guinness World Record for breaking 1,500 tiles in just 42 minutes. That same year, he enhanced his expertise by training in Kickboxing in Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand, and also completed Muay Thai Instructor Training in Thailand. Continuing his international exposure, he traveled to India, Japan, and Denmark in 2004 to participate in the Asian Tournament, the World Cup, and specialized Seishin Budo (NIKO) training, ultimately earning his 2nd DAN Black Belt. Today, Dr. Saman K. Wijenayake is recognized not only for his remarkable personal achievements but also for his dedication to promoting martial arts globally. Through his schools and clubs, he continues to inspire the next generation of martial artists with a strong foundation in discipline, resilience, and excellence.
